Trying to kill the Messenger?

This wire understands threats against a free-lance colleague in Germany are continuing on an ongoing basis. The demand is to stop an investigation for a story on this wire.
The threat originated from a  phone number from a known Eastern European Country. Our associate filed a police report in Berlin. This is currently investigated by authorities in Germany.

We also understand threats and emails were received to discredit people on our staff with issues unrelated to activities and time frames we are reporting about on this publication.

We regret those behind this smear and threat campaign find it necessary to distract from the issues at hand.
